The Garfield Heights Figure Skating Club (GHFSC) is an affiliate of US Figure Skating. It seeks to promote both recreational and competitive figure skating. GHFSC is also the home of nationally renowned synchronized skating teams and sponsor of the Rising Stars Figure Skating Competition held annually in November.
The club is located at the Dan Kostel Recreation Center, 5411 Turney Road, Garfield Heights, Ohio. Organized in 1971, it currently has 60 members, the vast majority of whom are active freestyle and synchronized team skaters.
We promote freestyle, moves in the field, dance, and synchronized team skating. USFS sanctioned tests are held semiannually. The Rising Stars Figure Skating Competition draws competitors at the Open-Juvenile level and under.
